Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the JustPickAi website (justpickai.com). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency about our data practices in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR), and other applicable data protection laws.
Please read this policy carefully. By using our website, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy. For information about cookies specifically, please see our Cookie Policy.
1. Data Controller
The data controller responsible for your personal data is:
- Isla Circle Ltd
- London, England, United Kingdom
- Email: privacy@justpickai.com
If you have any questions about how we handle your data, you can contact us at the email address above.
2. What Data We Collect
We collect and process the following categories of personal data:
a) Quiz Answers
When you take our AI tool recommendation quiz, your answers are processed entirely in your browser (client-side). We do not transmit or store your quiz answers on our servers. The recommendation algorithm runs locally in your browser.
b) Newsletter Subscription
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address to send you periodic updates about AI tools and recommendations.
c) Tool Submission Data
If you submit an AI tool for consideration on our site, we collect your name, email address, tool URL, and description that you provide in the submission form. This data is used to evaluate and potentially list the tool on our website.
d) AI Advisor Chat Messages
When you use our AI Advisor feature, the messages you type are sent to Anthropic (the provider of the Claude AI model) for processing. JustPickAi does not store your chat messages on its own servers. Anthropic processes these messages in accordance with their own privacy policy and data retention practices.
e) Analytics Data
We use Google Analytics (property ID: G-C9PRL163JZ) to understand how visitors use our website. Google Analytics collects data such as pages visited, session duration, referral source, browser type, device type, and approximate geographic location. This data is pseudonymised and aggregated. We also use Vercel Analytics, which collects privacy-friendly, session-based performance data without using cookies.
f) Advertising Data
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. Google AdSense may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
g) Cookie Consent Preference
We store your cookie consent preference in your browser's localStorage (not as a cookie sent to our servers). This allows us to remember your consent choice across visits without transmitting it externally.
3. Legal Basis for Processing
We process your personal data on the following legal bases under Article 6 of the GDPR:
- Consent (Article 6(1)(a)): For setting analytics and advertising cookies, subscribing to our newsletter, and processing personalised ads via Google AdSense. You may withdraw your consent at any time.
- Legitimate Interest (Article 6(1)(f)): For Vercel Analytics (privacy-friendly, session-based performance monitoring), basic site operations, and security. Our legitimate interest is to maintain and improve our website. We have assessed that this processing does not override your rights and freedoms.
- Contract (Article 6(1)(b)): For processing tool submission data when you submit a tool for listing on our site, as this is necessary to evaluate and fulfil your submission request.
4. Third-Party Recipients
We share personal data with the following categories of third-party service providers, each acting as a data processor or independent controller as described:
- Google LLC (United States) — Provides Google Analytics for website analytics and Google AdSense for advertising. Google acts as a data processor for Analytics and as a joint controller for certain AdSense advertising data.

- Vercel Inc. (United States) — Provides website hosting and Vercel Analytics. Vercel acts as a data processor.
We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
5. International Data Transfers
Some of our third-party service providers are based in the United States. When your data is transferred outside the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs): We rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK International Data Transfer Addendum where applicable.
- EU-US Data Privacy Framework: Where our US-based processors are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (and the UK Extension), we rely on this framework as an additional safeguard.
6. Data Retention
- Newsletter emails: Retained until you unsubscribe. Upon unsubscription, your email address is deleted from our mailing list.
- AI Advisor chat messages: JustPickAi does not store your chat messages. Anthropic's data retention policy applies to messages processed by their systems. Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for details.
- Tool submission data: Retained for as long as necessary to evaluate the submission and, if listed, for the duration the tool appears on our site.
- Analytics data: Retained in accordance with Google Analytics' default data retention settings. You can learn more at Google's data retention page.
- Cookie consent preference: Stored in your browser's localStorage until you clear your browser data.
